Location: Atlanta City Hall

Duration: 8 Weeks (June 5, 2025 - August 1, 2025)

Pay Rate: $16.00 per hour

Work Hours: 8:30am - 5:00pm, Monday to Friday

General Description and Classification Standards 

Performs various and diverse administrative and/or project duties depending on specific department and job assignment. This title is typically assigned to someone attending college who is interning to gain more experience and knowledge of a specific function in municipal government. 

Supervision Received 

Works under direct supervision and follows standardized procedures and written instructions to accomplish assigned tasks. 



Responsibilities

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Performs various and diverse administrative and/or project duties depending on specific department and job assignment. 
  • This title is typically assigned to someone attending college who is interning to gain more experience and knowledge of a specific function in municipal government.
  • Engages in on-the-job training on operational policies and work procedures to attain the necessary talents which allow the incumbent to contribute to the work being produced by the organizational unit to which assigned. 
  • Collects information/data. 
  • Compiles and prepares reports. 
  • May prepare presentations for staff members. 
  • Attends project team meetings. 
  • May do filing, answer phone and other clerical duties in addition to administrative/project assignments.

Follows standardized procedures and written instructions to accomplish assigned tasks.

 Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Some knowledge of specific professional function in which assigned, e.g. IT, Human Resources, Accounting etc. 
  • Good Microsoft Office skills.

  • Ability to quickly assimilate new information into a work process to achieve the desired objective outcome. 
  • Ability to independently collect information needed and transpose into finished product. 


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications 

Education and Experience 

Pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline for the department in which person is an intern (Equivalent professional experience may be considered for substitution for the required degree on an exception basis).
