TheBehavioral Health Security Officer position helps maintain a safe and secure environment for our clients by actively monitoring the premises, including patrolling a variety of locations. They preserve order while enforcing regulations and directives for a client site pertaining to personnel, visitors, and the area. Frequently our Security Officers will provide customer service and information to a client’s employees and customers.

The Behavioral Health Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for juvenile patients within a behavioral health facility. This role requires a compassionate and patient-centered approach to managing challenging behaviors and ensuring the safety of all individuals in the facility. The officer will be trained to intervene appropriately, including the physical restraint of patients when necessary, in accordance with established protocols. Key Responsibilities: • Patient Safety: Monitor and assess the safety and behavior of juvenile patients, intervening as needed to prevent harm to self or others. • Restraint Procedures: Utilize approved de-escalation techniques and physical restraint methods as a last resort to ensure patient and staff safety. • Crisis Intervention: Respond promptly and effectively to crises, employing verbal de-escalation strategies and conflict resolution skills. • Collaboration: Work closely with behavioral health staff, including therapists and nurses, to support patient treatment plans and ensure a therapeutic environment. • Documentation: Accurately document incidents, interventions, and observations in compliance with facility policies and regulatory requirements. • Training and Compliance: Participate in ongoing training programs related to behavioral health, crisis intervention, and restraint techniques. • Safety Protocols: Enforce facility safety policies and procedures to ensure a secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors. • Team Support: Assist in maintaining a positive and respectful atmosphere, promoting teamwork and communication among staff. Qualifications: • High school diploma or equivalent; relevant experience in behavioral health, security, or related fields preferred. • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse populations, including juveniles with behavioral health issues. • Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations. • Physical fitness to perform restraints and respond to emergencies as needed. Working Conditions: • The role involves regular interaction with juvenile patients who may exhibit aggressive or disruptive behaviors.
