Description

• Develop and execute a strategic plan for international remittance services across African subsidiaries, aligning with the Bank’s overall objectives.

• Identify growth opportunities, assess competitor offerings, and work with local teams to design market-specific remittance solutions.

• Identify potential products in all the African regions

• Liaise with the regional Sales and Services for effective presentation and marketing of the products

• Participate in relevant product training for all branches bank-wide

• Set measurable targets for customer acquisition, transaction volume, and revenue growth for international remittance channels.

• Conduct research to understand customer needs, remittance patterns, and competitive dynamics across African markets.

• Collaborate with product and technology teams in Nigeria and the subsidiaries to develop new remittance products and enhance existing services based on market needs.

• Work with subsidiary teams to optimize remittance channels, including agency networks, partnerships with financial institutions, and digital platforms.

• Identify and develop new distribution channels to expand the reach of remittance services, particularly in underserved areas.

• Implement initiatives to increase transaction frequency and customer retention in key markets.

• Ensure all remittance activities comply with local and international regulations, including anti-money laundering (AML) and know-your-customer (KYC) standards.

• Monitor and address potential risks related to international remittances, such as fraud, regulatory risks, and operational challenges.

• Regularly analyze performance data to assess the effectiveness of remittance strategies and identify areas for improvement.

• Prepare and present reports on remittance performance, providing actionable insights and recommendations for growth.

• Build and manage partnerships with banks, money transfer operators (MTOs), fintechs, and other strategic partners to enhance remittance offerings.

• Negotiate agreements with partners to expand the remittance network and improve service delivery across subsidiaries.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of remittance products, customer preferences, and regulatory requirements in African markets.

• Experience working with digital payments platforms, cross-border transaction management, and financial compliance.

• Proficiency in data analysis, performance tracking, and reporting tools.

• Knowledge of the regulatory landscape for cross-border payments, including AML and KYC requirements.

• Familiarity with financial technology (fintech) trends and remittance solutions.

• Strong stakeholder management and partnership development skills.

• Multilingual capabilities relevant to African markets (e.g., French, Portuguese).

• First degree in any discipline. Masters and professional qualification will be an added advantage

• Minimum of 15 years relevant experience in the Banking Industry and a minimum of 3 years Relevant experience in international remittance, cross-border payments, or financial services, with a focus on African markets
