  We are seeking a highly skilled Benefits Manager to oversee the administration, compliance, and strategic management of all company benefit programs. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring our benefits offerings remain competitive, cost-effective, and compliant with all applicable regulations. The Benefits Manager will oversee insurance plans, the Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), 401(k) administration, and leave benefits management. Experience in compensation plan design and bilingual communication skills are a plus.


Key Responsibilites: 

  • Manage and oversee the administration of the Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), ensuring compliance and employee education.
  • Act as the primary liaison with third-party ESOP administrators.
  • Administer and manage all health, dental, vision, FSA & HSA, life insurance, disability, EAP, wellness, and voluntary benefits.
  • Lead vendor selection and implementation for COBRA administrators, retirement plan TPAs, pharmacy benefit managers, wellness initiatives, and financial advisors.
  • Conduct regular evaluations and make strategic recommendations to enhance benefit programs.
  • Oversee open enrollment, employee education, and benefits communication strategies.
  • Partner with payroll to ensure accurate deductions and benefit payments.
  • Provide monthly and quarterly health and wellness reports to executive leadership.
  • Oversee the company’s 401(k) retirement plan, ensuring compliance, enrollment, and education.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the 401(k) service provider.
  • Coordinate and manage the annual audit and compliance testing.
  • Conduct informational meetings with employees to ensure understanding and engagement.
  • Manage FMLA, ADA, and company leave policies, coordinating as needed with workers’ compensation.
  • Process leave requests, ensuring compliance with legal and company requirements.
  • Serve as a resource for employees and managers regarding leave policies, return-to-work plans, and accommodations.
  • Stay up to date with federal, state, and local laws governing employee benefits.
  • Support HR initiatives, including new hire orientation, performance management, and talent acquisition.
  • Collaborate on HR special projects and process improvements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; SHRM certification or Master’s degree preferred.
  • 5-7 years of experience in benefits administration, including ESOP, 401(k), and leave management.
  • Strong knowledge of ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, FMLA, ADA, and other benefits-related regulations.
  • Experience with compensation structures and pay benchmarking is preferred.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess and optimize benefits programs.
  • Excellent communication, project management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in HRIS and benefits administration systems.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Occasional travel to company branches, benefits fairs, conferences, or vendor meetings.
  • Extended periods of computer use and sitting.
  • Some after-hours work may be required during peak periods.
