About Telos

Telos is a transformative community equipping leaders to promote justice, peace, and mutual flourishing across lines of difference. We focus on complex global and domestic conflicts, particularly in Israel/Palestine, the U.S. South, and beyond. Through immersive travel experiences, deep relationship-building, and strategic training, we empower peacemakers to engage meaningfully in their communities.

Position Overview

The Director of Christian Engagement will lead Telos’ efforts to cultivate, equip, and mobilize Christian leaders and communities in our peacemaking work. This role involves strategic outreach, program development, and relationship management with churches, pastors, and faith-based organizations. A key responsibility of this role will be overseeing Mosaic: The Peacemaking Journey for Congregations, a two-year initiative designed to integrate peacemaking into the DNA of church communities. The ideal candidate is a dynamic communicator, an experienced bridge-builder, and deeply committed to peacemaking within a Christian framework.

Key Responsibilities

Christian Engagement & Outreach

  • Develop and execute a strategy to engage Christian leaders and faith communities in Telos’ mission.
  • Build and maintain relationships with pastors, denominational leaders, seminaries, and key Christian influencers.
  • Serve as a theological guide, helping Christian audiences navigate the intersection of faith, justice, and peacemaking.
  • Represent Telos at conferences, gatherings, and media platforms.

Mosaic Program Management & Leadership

  • Oversee and execute all aspects of the Mosaic Peacemaking Journey for Congregations, ensuring successful implementation.
  • Recruit, select, and manage participating churches and congregational leaders.

  • Lead Year 2 activities, such as:
    • Coordinating Telos-sponsored peacemaking trainings and local “Listening-to-Understand Pilgrimages.”
    • Managing issue-specific programming with partner institutions.
    • Guiding church leadership through a community discernment process to solidify new commitments and values.
    • Work with Telos staff to track program impact and develop future iterations of Mosaic.

Movement Building & Advocacy

  • Equip churches and Christian networks to engage in advocacy and solidarity with communities of struggle.
  • Support trip alumni in integrating peacemaking into their faith communities.
  • Leverage existing Christian networks to grow Telos’ presence and impact.
