About the Plumbing Fabrication Shop Internship

The Plumbing Fabrication Shop’s main goals are to ensure field technicians receive the materials needed to get projects completed within the time frame allowed.  This internship is a great opportunity for students interested in the joining the trades. You'll observe daily operations, learn how different departments function and gain insight into the plumbing fabrication process. While this is a learning-focused role, you’ll develop a strong understanding of how a plumbing fabrication shop operates, including workflow, safety protocols, and teamwork within the industry.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Assist with day-to-day operations and tasks within each department.
  • Receive mentorship from experienced plumbing professionals. 
  • Collaborate with team members to solve problems and overcome challenges.
  • Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment.
  • Receive, distribute, and organize materials.
  • Follow safety protocols and company procedures.


A successful candidate will have:

  • Current high school or college student with an interest in joining the trades.
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude and demonstrate a willingness to learn and grow throughout the internship.
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt to new tasks and environments quickly.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work effectively in a team environment.


Physical Requirements

Must be capable of performing various physically demanding tasks essential to shop/warehouse operations. This includes the ability to lift and carry heavy objects weighing up to 25 pounds repeatedly throughout the day, as well as standing, walking, bending, stooping, reaching, and climbing for extended periods.  Additionally, the position requires dexterity to handle fragile or delicate items with care, accurately read labels and instructions, and follow safety protocols diligently to maintain a secure working environment.
