The Opportunity at Bayou City Fellowship

Bayou City Student internships offer a unique opportunity for college students to come and minister to our students, their families, our staff, and Bayou City Fellowship at large.  This is a position that is thoughtfully designed to prepare interns to deepen their own faith and the faith of the students, and to develop skills that will further the student ministry of Bayou City Fellowship and ultimately the Kingdom of God.

Bayou City Fellowship is a community of believers who are committed to radically focusing on Jesus, serving our city and world, and starting new churches. One of the best ways we do this is by living life in a community of growing believers.

Job Description

Purpose:

Bayou City Students exists to disciple students through scripture, worship, community, and missions. They are integrated into the ministry and service of Bayou City Fellowship where their faith is deepened and they are equipped to live into who God has designed them to be.

An Internship with Bayou City Students provides an opportunity to reach out in Christ’s love to junior high and high school students within the framework of a full-time ministry position. This occurs in three basic areas:

  1. Interns are called to live a Christ-centered life and challenged to grow spiritually in their personal relationship with the Lord. This happens through the Holy Spirit’s leading as the intern teaches, leads Bible studies, and serves the students as well as through time spent as a team pursuing Christ through prayer, study, and worship.
  2. Interns are given the opportunity and are encouraged to discover, develop, and use the gifts given to them through the Holy Spirit and explore their call to vocational Christian ministry. This occurs through the programmatic and relational aspects of Bayou City Students and through additional strategic training and development provided by the Student Staff.
  3. Interns are engaged in the planning and implementation of all the various aspects of Bayou City Students. Specifically, there will be significant time spent in preparation for our weekly programs, special events, retreats, service projects, mission trips, and more.
